Members will have complete control over their profile information through the Members Portal. Members are encouraged to be as social and open as they feel comfortable with, but Members privacy is considered sacrosanct.
Profile head shots
Members will choose an avatar to represent them within Members Portal. For most people, this will be their head shot photo. They will also have the option of choosing from a wide range of avatars, including the ‘incognito’ blank head avatar, in keeping with their privacy level. A person with very open privacy settings would be more likely to use their photo as an avatar. A person who prefers private flight would tend toward the incognito avatar. Someone in between might use a caricature avatar.
Photos and Videos
Members will be able to upload an unlimited number of photos and videos, and will be encouraged to do so. The more images of people enjoying semi-private jet travel the better. Members can control who can see which media through their privacy settings. Members will be able to tag media and associate them with specific trips, aircraft, and other Members.
Contact Information
Standard contact information will be stored in the Member’s database. The member will have the ability to control visibility of these data by other Members via privacy settings.
Payment Information
The Member can edit their payment information through the profile manager. There is no privacy setting related to payment information. It is always private.
SocialAir Network
Members can group other Social Air Members into contact lists such as family, friends, associates, acquaintances, etc. They can control the visibility of their internal social network to a granular level.
Social network profiles
Members can also include links to their various social network profiles such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Google +, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, etc. Again, access can be restricted to any group of Members.
Websites
Members can also link to an unlimited number of websites, such as their business website, personal blog, a cause they support, etc. These websites will be displayed with small thumbnail screenshots of the site.
Comments
Members will be able to make comments about various entities such as aircraft, airports, markets (cities), operators, pilots, vendors, and other Members. These comments can be made as public as they want them to be, from private where only the Member can see their own comments to public where everyone can see them, or restricted to any groups they have set up.
Travel Mode
Members can set their travel mode (see Operations » Members’ Portal » Privacy) to let other Members know what level of engagement they prefer. Travel modes can include:
- Leisure travel – open to conversation (e.g. family on a vacation)
- Leisure travel – prefer privacy (e.g. couple on honeymoon)
- Business – open to networking (e.g. entrepreneur who is open to making deals)
- Business – working (e.g. a team that will be having an on board meeting)
- Private (someone travelling alone who wants to just work on their computer)
Members’ travel mode will be clearly visible on flight manifests and Member profile.
Calendar
Members can integrate their calendar with the SocialAir system and share specific calendar events selectively.
