Jumpjet

Jumpjet has attempted to launch their service three times since 2007, most recently on June 1, 2013.  Their tagline is “Fly Private for the Price of First”.  Their pitch is basically that the cost is the equivalent of First Class, but with all the convenience and other benefits that you expect from private jet travel.  They launched with a little over 100 members on June 1, selling over $5 million in membership commitments, and collecting over $400,000 in the first months feeds within a matter of days.  They have since booked roughly 250 trips since then, and have been sending up a couple flights per day since then.

Because their membership is spread out nationwide they are currently running all these flights with only one party on board, which means they are losing money on every flight.  They currently are adding no new members to their base, but are only fulfilling the flight requests made by the existing members.  There is no social media activity, no SEO effort under way, and no PPC campaigns.  In other words, they are dead in the water and will probably be closing up soon.  That event only waits for the founder to recognize its inevitability.

I am very familiar with the this information because I built their website systems and have direct access to all their company data.
